Aristocrat outfit

Outfit time ~~

I wanted to try Aristocrat for such a long time, again I was too scared to try it.
I few weeks ago I found this amazing dress from Laura Ashley in wine red, I couldn't be happier!
Guess what? Now I don't have any  excuse to try aristocrat.
Since I saw Mana wearing all these beautiful aristocrat outfits I really liked it but I always thought it's no good for me.

So I hope you do like it and constructive criticism is welcome!
I'm sure I have to learn a lot...

Lolita Blog Carnival:The historical era that most influences my lolita style.

Long time no see other Lolita Blog Carnival Bloggers! I couldn't blog very often the past few weeks and I really like to read other blogs when I write for the Lolita Blog Carnival myself but I had no time.

The Victorian Era

The historical era that influence me the most is the Victorian era, Victorian fashion is so elegant, feminine and extremely detailed. That's exactly the reason why I like lolita fashion!
I also like the corsets that are often used for making the waist as tiny as possible. I should not exaggerate this because in the Victoria era the waist was so tiny that women even died by complications.I like a small healthy waist, not too tiny hahaha!

As many of you already know I love hats and the most amazing hats are from the Victorian era. There are many different hats in different styles with lots of accessories, those hats make the outfits that are already so beautiful even more elegant and beautiful. Let me show you an example from a fashion book in the late Victorian era.

Those hats are amazing, aren't they? I hope you can understand what I mean now. Bonnets and hats were very popular in the Victorian Era so it explains why there are so many beautiful examples from those items. I have an Victorian inspired pirate hat (a little bit anachronistic, I know) and two simple Victorian inspired hats. I also love gloves which it's the kind of accessories that make an outfit more elegant. Don't forget the bustle skirts! That's typical for the Victorian era and it's popular in lolita fashion too. I would love to have a jsk with bustle skirt some day.

The last reason why I love Victorian fashion is the diversity. The Victorian era is strongly influenced by the reign of Queen Victoria from June 1837 until January 1901. Victorian fashion comprises many trends and fashions in the British culture. The Victorian era covers nearly two thirds of the 19th century that's why there are many different styles and different use of colors within Victorian fashion. I not the kind of person who wears only one color or specific style... This era must be perfect for me, don't you think?!

Maybe you are wondering why I've chosen the Victorian era as historical era that influence me the most.
I have to admit it was so difficult to pick just one historical era, I love Renaissance inspired fashion, I love Middle Ages inspired fashion, I adore Rococo inspired fashion and Victorian inspired fashion. I just can't make a decision! Because of my love for hats, the small waist and the simple yet pure elegant outfits the Victorian era influence me the most I think.

Angelic Nostalgia

Some of you may noticed it already, I changed my blog name and also my nickname. SweetLolitaDoll doesn't suit me anymore, I'm not only interested in Sweet Lolita fashion. I still like it but it's not like before, I love Gothic Lolita and that's going to be my main style. So why did I change my blog name into Angelic Nostalgia? My blog has become a sort of dairy of (selected) good memories and every time I read old blog posts I get this nostalgic feeling of the nice things that happened in the past. The word 'angelic' refers to the angel-like image of lolita fashion in general, it doesn't matter how dark the clothes are, the angelic feeling is always present.

I also changed my name which suits Angelic Nostalgia better, I'm still the same person so don't worry! I used to love violets while I was little and I still do.I also feel a little bit sad while I changed all this, that's why I waited for so long. I wanted to change my blog and everything for a few months...

Has anyone ideas for a suitable surname? Only Violet feels so empty, hahaha! And if you have some ideas for my blog please tell me...I hope nothing went wrong while I changed everything, I don't know much about all those different settings.

Rococo Lolita meeting

Last Sunday I organized a meeting with my friend Josine. I'm a huge fan of themed meetings unfortunately my community doesn't organize many of them. Such a shame of course, the Dutch community needs more themed meetings because it's nice to wear a special outfit for a certain meeting. A few months ago I told Josine that I wanted to attend more themed meeting especially a Rococo Lolita meeting. That's why we decided to organize one. ~~

We went to a lovely restaurant in Utrecht, I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. The restaurant had a Victorian look, not really Rococo but well, it looked amazing and the food was amazing. It was nice to be back, it was the same restaurant were I had my first lolita meeting. And one of my best friend went with me to the meeting, she didn't attend a lolita meetings for a long time.

What did we do? We went to the restaurant to do an afternoon tea (high tea) and we talked a lot about lolita and other things. The Afternoon tea was very delicious like I said before, it was one of the best I've ever had. Sandwiches, scones, muffins, pancakes and much more...

After the high tea we went to visit a beautiful church which I never visited before.
It was hidden between other buildings, the church is not outstanding and I first thought it would be a small chapel. I was really surprised, it wasn't a small chapel but a big church with the most amazing colors and decoration. It's the St. Willibrordkerk, (kerk = Dutch for church) the church is located near the Domkerk (Domchurch) and it's really worth to take a look if you are close.

We had to leave the church because of preparations for the mass later in the evening. I'm sure I'm going back it's such an unique church! Then we went to the Domtuin for taking some nice pictures of the group. Everyone wore lovely outfits, I'm so happy people have put so much effort in their outfits. ^^
